FAQs

Why does the museum charge for educational visits?

The Heugh Gun Battery museum is a charity and is therefore dependant upon other forms of income to ensure it is able to operate. All money generated goes directly back into the museum to help restore artefacts or for general maintenance.

How much does each session cost?

The cost of each session varies and can be seen on the education programme brochure.

How far in advance do I need to book?

The museums educational programme is very popular therefore it is recommended that you book a term in advance of your visit. However the museum will work hard to accommodate all bookings. Call or email our Outreach Worker on 01429 270746 to see when we have availability.

What if the trip is cancelled?

If you need to cancel your booking, please give us at least 4 weeks notice to ensure you get a full refund.

Notice Period Refund
4 weeks or more Full refund
Less than 4 weeks 50% refund
2 weeks or less (inc. no-shows) No refund

Any charges will be invoiced on the day the cancellation is received.

I would like to bring a group to the museum when it is open to the public and not have a form lesson would this be possible?

The museum is open Thursday - Sunday and if booked in advance normal group charges will apply. Tours can be given on request free of charge.
